365 Love Letters: Week One

Welcome to my own addition to 365 Love Letters.

I previously mentioned I saw this idea on Baby Making Machine and decided I just HAD to do it myself. I already document Little Monster's life taking a photo (or more) a day, this will just motivate me more! I've been trying to learn to use my camera on manual and change settings for ISO, etc.

I can't seem to figure out why there is so much "noise" in these photos - like on the blank wall for example. Any words of wisdom? I'm using photoshop and some free action sets from The Pioneer Woman, which I love! What are your favorite actions for photoshop? Do you know of any other free resources?

Anyways.... tell me what you think!

(see, in the photo above... all that noise or "static"... how do I get rid of that? Any suggestions?)

  2. I have no idea how to fix the noise. Perhaps try lowering the ISO on your camera. Sometimes on mine, if it's too high, it takes the picture super fast (like for movement pictures) so it ends up looking grainy. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Day 2 pic! Your family is adorable. Congrats on your award!

  3. Love it! Personally, maybe I'm the only one, But I really like the one of G and C with the noise. I think it looks kind of vintage. Almost like it was taken with a Polaroid.

  4. noise is generally caused by a high ISO, what was your ISO for those photos? try upping light available, or use a flash, bounced or not or lower shutter speed a bit to let in more light or lower AF to let in more light and use a lower ISO, or all of those together! Should help.

  5. Beautiful work!!! =) What were your manual settings in those photos? That will help me help you with the noise. Could for sure be iso, but many people don't even use that when starting out. Anyway, you have such beautiful words and photos...I will for sure have to copy you in this idea someday.

  6. It's probably the ISO - I think it was at 800 for all of these photos, actually.

Thank you for the compliments, everyone :)
